Welcome to our seventh week of the Sunny Kisses Quilt Along. We are so excited you are joining in on this beautiful quilt using the Hopscotch and Freckles and Country Confetti fabric. Join us each Monday for a new tutorial and video with helpful tips and tricks.

You will need a fat quarter bundle of Hopscotch and Freckles, 7 Fat quarters of Country Confetti colors and yardage for the background in Country Confetti Marshmallow White. There are several quilt shops who carry Poppie Cotton fabric. Please check our list of stores here.

You can view all the fabric selections for Hopscotch and Freckles here. Country Confetti can be viewed here.

Sunny Kisses Quilt Along begins March 21 through May 16… runs every Monday for 9 weeks. Each week we will feature a block. You will complete the blocks for each row. If you join us and follow along you will finish the Sunny Kisses quilt pattern by the end of 9 weeks. You will need a fat quarter bundle of Hopscotch and Freckles, 7 Fat quarters of Country Confetti colors and yardage for the background in Country Confetti Marshmallow White. This darling collection features blacks, reds, pinks, yellows, teals, mints and blues. The little girls are doing chores on the farm and there are designs with pinwheels, strawberries, flowers and sweet words like, Grandma’s House, strawberries, lemonade… Quilt Alongs are a wonderful way to learn new skills and push yourself to stay on schedule and finish the quilt. It’s also just fun to join in with a group and be encouraged with helpful tips and tricks.

Take your squares and cut diagonally once to make 2 triangles. You will need 8 triangles total. I used different prints but the same color.

Sew a background to a color print. Make your half square triangles. Trim to 2 1/2″. Make sure you have a perfect corner. This will create a nice 1/4″ seam allowance.

Layout your half square triangles and squares for each units. Make 4 units.

Sew units together with the rectangles. This creates the plus sign in the middle. I like to use the same color for the plus sign. This really pops the block and shows the design.

Sew together all sections to finish the block. You will make 6 total for the Star Row.

Enjoy making the 6 Star Blocks needed for this row. We only have one more block to do… which is the chicken block!  Then, we will learn to assemble all the rows to complete the quilt. This will be our final week 9 of the Sunny Kisses Quilt Along. Enjoy this video with more details about how to assemble the Star Block Row.

Happy Sewing!!
