Chick-A-Doodle Doo Fabric Tour with The Red Feedsack

Chick-A-Doodle Doo Fabric Tour with The Red Feedsack

Today we welcome Dori from The Red Feedsack to share her beautiful mini quilt with us for the Chick-A-Doodle Doo Fabric Tour. You can find her blog and how she made this darling quilt here.

Chick-A-Doodle Doo is a sweet farm collection including icons such as chickens, barns, flowers, geometrics and an all over hexie print. The chicken makes her debut early in the morning by waking everyone up with her sweet singing! Her handkerchief tied around her neck is about the cutest thing you ever saw. The all over hexie print is a must have for those who love the look of fussy cut hexies. Teals, reds, soft pinks, yellows and blacks combine to bring contrast and beautiful color combinations.

You can find all the darling prints for Chick-A-Doodle Doo on our website here. You can also find all the Farmhouse Favorites colors that match with all the designs from this collection here.

Dori used the Sewing Illustration method which Minki Kim is so well-known for. It’s a method of using dark thread to outline the raw edges of fussy cut fabric. Notice all the cute houses… those are straight stitches on the sewing machine using dark thread.

This quilt is perfect in Dori’s farmhouse kitchen table. The prairie points are the final finishing touch and oh how fun are those!

The fussy cut images from Chick-A-Doodle Doo and the selvedges are a charming addition to this adorable quilt. The hand stitching is a beautiful addition too!

We hope you are inspired by all these pretty projects, to cut into your fabric and take some time to sit down and enjoy sewing a new project. Follow along with us as we share all the fun projects the designers below have created for us to share!
