Today is our last day of our Country Roads Fabric Tour. We are featuring Andy Knowlton of A Bright Corner with her talented quilting skills… she has made this beautiful baby quilt… it is all hand stitched… nothing captures our heart better than a hand quilted project. We appreciate and love the extra time it takes to hand stitch projects. Country Roads Fabric is a tribute to John Denver and his beautiful song “Country Roads take me home to the place I belong”… it includes a soft color palette of pale pinks, whites and deep blues. It combines the beautiful elegance of a variety of flowers, words from John Denvers song, stripes and small hexies.
Here you see all the whites in the collection; they are a beautiful contrast to the deep blues and pinks in this fabric line.
Next we have the pinks. There are varying shades of pink, from light to medium to dark and each pink compliments another.
Lastly there is the deep blue which gives depth and richness to the collection. You can find all the pieces included in this fabric selection here on our website at Poppie Cotton.
Did we mention our favorite part of this quilt is the hand stitching… and the PINK thread of course! We love pink at Poppie Cotton.
The white background gives this quilt a pop of modern freshness. The pattern for this quilt is called Lucky Star and it’s from Andy’s book called, Fresh Fat Quarter Quilts. Lucky Star uses just 6 fat quarters and it’s pretty fast to make with just four large star blocks.
We are so grateful you joined us for some sewing inspiration that includes the following designers. Please be sure to check back each week to see their fabulous creations!
