Meet our Makers!

Meet our Makers!

We are back to introduce you to more of our WONDERFUL makers! We so appreciate all the work and love they put into each project. Our makers help spotlight our fabrics and we wanted to shine the spotlight back on them!

Charise Creates

Charise Randell, author and designer, has designed women’s apparel for over 15 years and now spends her days designing sewing and quilting patterns.

She started sewing at the age of six designing and stitching clothes for her Barbie dolls.

She left her full time job 10 years ago to raise her boys and found quilting as a creative outlet.   After joining online quilting bees, she discovered foundation paper piecing and was hooked.

Her style is inspired by vintage domestic arts and the beauty of simple craft.

Molly and Mama

My favourite Poppie Cotton line at the moment is My Favorite Things by Elea Lutz. I'm really drawn to the cute motifs that are perfect for fussy cutting and I love the darling tiny florals.

Emily from Quilty Love

Emily is an enthusiastic quilter and business owner who enjoys the many challenges that comes with doing both.  She lives in Southern Minnesota with her husband and four kids.  When not sewing you will find her doing the soccer mom thing, taking road trips, chasing a five year old and trying to keep everyone fed and happy.

Kristyne from Pretty By Hand

Kristyne was born a maker.  Her earliest memories include time spent making craft projects of almost every description, including pom-poms, needlepoint, embroidery, macramé, decoupage, paint-by-numbers, friendship bracelets, and countless other kits that found their way into her hands.

She eventually fell hardest in love with making things out of fabric – pretty fabric in coordinating prints, if possible. Although she spent her high school and university years making garments (that often didn’t quite fit right) her love of fabric never waned. When she was introduced to quilting in 1985, she knew she’d found her passion and hasn’t stopped quilting since.

Her formal education gave her the skills to become a technical writer, which is now her full-time career. But she also uses her quilting experience and writing skills to design and publish quilt and sewing patterns.  And she loves to share her passion and knowledge with the students in her quilt and sewing classes.

She's a published author, having written 2 solo books, contributed to several compilations, and her original designs have been featured in many magazine articles. She also spent four years taking night classes to earn a graphic design certificate, which she put to good use fulfilling her dream of designing a few fabric collections ... and who know, perhaps another collection might be on the horizon.

One thing is for certain … she’ll always be making!

We have loved sharing with you each one of our makers! They are full of inspiration and encouragement, we are blessed to have such a wonderful team! We hope you have loved meeting them and will stop by often to see all the wonderful creations they make.
