We are so excited to share Poppie Cotton's first Farmhouse Fabric Tour. We have some of the most talented designers sharing their beautiful projects made from Prairie Sisters. This gorgeous collection of flowers, animals, ginghams, seed packets and much more, will inspire you to sew wonderful things!
One of my favorite quilt blocks is the Dresden. I loved putting these reds and pinks together to create this block. The gray and white word print is the perfect background for making the colors pop and that mint binding. You just have to LOVE it!
The center is an embroidery that I stitched by hand, using one of Lori's cute sketches. The Dresden and the center of the Dresden are all done on the sewing machine. I like to use the clear monofilament thread on top with a tiny zig zag stitch. This hides everything and makes all your edges beautiful.
There is some shadow quilting around the Dresden which makes everything look more defined. The pillow is made envelope style with easy insertion through the back of the pillow. The mint binding is sewn onto the back of the pillow and brought to the front with a lovely topstitch.
Be sure to check out all the designers below on their designated day for our Farmhouse Fabric Tour.
