Hello and welcome to the Delightful Department Store Fabric Tour! We are so glad to have you here and hope you have been enjoying this showcase of Amy Jordan’s newest fabric line as much as we have. Today we have some beautiful makes from Kristen Clay of Verity Vintage Studio. Kristen is so talented and we are always so inspired by her work. To learn more about her process head over to Verity Vintage Studio.
Kristen says: “The dress was sewn using an original 1950s pattern from my collection, and also vintage buttons. I added piping on the collar and a tie belt in the gingham.” This vintage dress plays so well with Delightful Department Store and we especially love the added piping to top things off.
Delightful Department Store: 1950’S ladies all dressed up for the day and ready to head out on the town. This is going to be a glorious day of shopping, looking at pretty things and having lunch with the girlfriends. There is nothing better than spending a day filled with laughter and good cheer. This beautiful collection has mixed yellows, mints, teals and all shades of pinks to create a colorful color palette. The fabric collection includes 1950’s dresses on lovely ladies, roses, ginghams, tiny tossed roses, receipts for the shopping day and all over flower dots.
Kristen also made a beautiful wall quilt using recycled vintage stained linens for the floral backdrops of a basket pattern she created. She pieced and custom quilted it on her home machine and it’s so sweet.
Beautiful work! Be sure to check out Kristen and also the rest of our makers for this month!
