The 12 Elves Of Christmas Day 3

The 12 Elves Of Christmas Day 3

Hi friends! Happy Sunday! We all know that December can be so full and rushed, in good ways and stressful ones too. We hope you make time this weekend and over the coming days to carve out some peaceful crafting time. What grounds you and brings you joy? Is it sitting at your sewing machine, or maybe slow hand stitching? Whatever it is we know these simple and easy finishes will bring some cheer to your holiday season.
Today we have such a fun little make that can be done completely by hand and only takes an hour or two! We were inspired by THIS tutorial from Elea Lutz and of course we had to pair her pattern with her newest fabrics Oh What Fun and we think these turned out pretty stinking cute!
This is a perfect way to use up those special Christmas scraps and favorite bits of hoarded fabric! Grad two to three pieces of fabric, a hoop, some felt scraps and either pom-poms or felt balls. You'll also need needle, thread and some glue.
Cut your fabric pieces to size and sew together either by machine or by hand. This project was sewn by Faith who took her sewing to a bookstore while Christmas shopping with her boys.
Elea used hot glue and fusible backing to make and adhere her leaves to the hoop but if you want to make this an on the go project, you can use hand stitching for the leaves and a few dots of fabric glue. You could also stitch the leaves and pom-pom down to the top of the hoop.
Faith used 4 inch hoops instead of three inch ones and you could go even bigger and show off more favorite scraps, but really you can't get any more cute than a tiny hoop! You can hang these to bring festive cheer to any room or use them as ornaments for the tree. How perfect would one of these be as a gift topper for a friend?
Be sure to check out Elea's post for more inspiration! Join in the fun on Instagram by using the hashtag #poppiecotton12elves and tagging us! We want to see what you are working on for Christmas gifts and sewing fun! Each week we will choose a random post from the hashtag to win a fun prize pack plus it's a great way to share inspiration and meet fellow crafty friends! We hope you are enjoying these projects, see you right back here tomorrow!
