Hi friends! We have another quick and super cute project on the 8th day of our #poppiecotton12elves making event. We are just loving sharing these fun projects with you and we have loved seeing you share your inspiring ideas as well.
Today we made a super simple hot pad that's a great little gift idea. This one is simple enough to make with the kids too! We have the tutorial right here, all you'll need is:
-2 squares 10" x 10" batting
-5 squares 10" x 10" fabrics
and your usual sewing supplies.
Let's get sewing!
Choose five coordinating fabrics and cut into 10 inch squares. Cut two pieces of batting (we love Hobbs!), press your fabrics. You can also use precut 10 inch squares for this too!
Fold four of your squares in half to make triangles, these will be the top side of the hot pad. Start by layering two pieces of batting and then your one piece of unfolded fabric facing right side up, then add your folded fabrics one on top of the other with the folded edges meeting in the middle. Fold the corner of the top piece under the corner of the first piece.
Pin or clip in place and sew around all four edges using a 1/4 seam allowance.
Clip corners to trim and turn right side out. Push out the corners and top stitch around the edges to finish.

And just like that you have a super fun hot pad to show off some adorable prints! We used our upcoming line by Lori Woods called Calico Cowgirls and it turned out pretty sweet! Happy sewing!
